“Civil Litigation” is a broad term for legal work that covers disputes that do not involve criminal activity. Things like car and truck accidents, medical malpractice, dangerous premises, insurance claims, etc. Most often, these matters involve a claim for money as compensation for some damage or injury that occurred. There can be times when the matter at issue is small, and not worth the cost of a lawyer. For things like that, “small claims” courts can be helpful, as they are designed to allow people to represent themselves on simple matters involving only a few thousand dollars or less. For more significant matters, Mark Smith has over 30 years of extensive experience in many areas of civil litigation.
